I am trying to: add Google Tag Manager scripts to my site, which uses the Toolset Starter Child Theme and Layouts.

I visited a handful of support threads but was confused about some of them-- recommended changing functions.php, etc.

Google's guidelines say add one script at the top of the header, and another script just after the opening body tag.

Is there a way to do this easily? I don't want to break the theme or anything...

Thank you in advance for taking a minute to help 🙂

Hi Steve,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

I'll be more than happy to assist you with this.

Could you send me a copy of the scripts so that I can have a look.

Thanks,
Shane

Is there a way to add scripts (like this one) to sites using layouts, without relying on a plugin?

Hi Steve,

Actually no because google requires that these scripts be placed in specific areas on your theme. Layouts js editor only includes the scripts in the footer.

Thanks,
Shane
