I have a CPT called "happenings" (events) which is related to a CPT called "locations". This is for an events listing capability.

Users can enter the details of a happening and relate it to a venue ("location"). But if the location doesn't exist yet, is there a way to allow them to add a new location and relate it to the happening? Ideally they'd enter a search in the relationship dropdown and, if no location matched, be offered an option to create a new one.

I've looked through examples and can't see anything similar.

Thanks

Hi,

if you are using Toolset Forms (CRED) plugin to allow users to add “happenings”, then it’s not possible to add and connect a new relationship post. You can do this natively only creating a new CPT post within the WordPress interface.

If you wish, I can add this as a new feature request, but I can’t give you an ETA for it.

Thanks, yes please could you add this as a feature request. I can see this being a fairly common use case if front end users and relating items to each other.
