[Resolved] Add empty row in the start of custom field filter select

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I have a custom search View with several filters. One of those is a custom field filter. It is a "select" type input. I would like to include a default, empty option in this field.

Solution: Scroll down to the Search and Pagination editor and you can add the "default_label" attribute to the custom search filter, like this.

[wpv-control-postmeta field="wpcf-your-field-slug" type="select" url_param="wpv-wpcf-your-url-param" default_label=" "]

Set the value of the attribute to be a blank space, and an empty line will appear in the select field.

I have in my custom search 2 taxonomy filters and one custom field filter (url parameter). I can't find a way to have the last filter's first value as empty, meaning "show all". Now you can see in attachements how the filters are set up and how they look. Problem is I would like to have that last filter (before text search) only as an extra optional filter as the others are. Now there is always the first filter chosen and this kind of ruins the whole idea here.

Hi, I apologize for the delay responding to your ticket. There was a problem in the forum and this ticket was not assigned to a supporter correctly. I will try to help.

Scroll down to the Search and Pagination editor and you can add the "default_label" attribute to the custom search filter, like this.

[wpv-control-postmeta field="wpcf-your-field-slug" type="select" url_param="wpv-wpcf-your-url-param" default_label=" "]

Set the value of the attribute to be a blank space, and an empty line will appear in the select field. More information about this shortcode is available here:
