Hi
I am trying to add an editing link to a view that list items, following
https://toolset.com/documentation/getting-started-with-toolset/publish-content-from-the-front-end/forms-for-editing/
I have:
- a view listing current user stores
- a store editing form
- a page listing current user stores
- a content template for the form
but I don't manage to add the CT to the view as explained in your documentation because in my Display Options the box "Using this Content Template" doesn't exists. My Views version is Version 2.9.4. I suppose your documentation refers to Guthemberg, while I am using Avada, not sure it matters.
Please explain how I can add a edit link to my editing page to stores listed on the "my stores" page, thanks

Hi Nicola,

Thank you for getting in touch.

If your editor has the Cred form button on it. See Screenshot

If this button is there then you should be able to follow the example in the screenshot in order to insert the link to your page.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
SHnae

Hi Shane
thanks for replying. As you can see it seems I have a different Views version (you have much nicer icons ...), it's weird becasue I always keep my plugins updated and there is no indication to update. But the issue might not be related to this.
Editing my view, if I click on Templates for this view / Toolset Forms button I get what you can see in the attached screenshot like I didn't have a template, but I DO ! see other screenshot. Why my CT doesn't show up here for selection ? what am I doing wrong ?
Thanks
Regards
Nicola

Hi Nicola,

Thank you for the screenshot.

If you have our layouts plugin enabled, can you disable it and try again ?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Nicola,

If you're not using it then you can remove it.

Would you mind allowing me to have access tot he site so that I can check on the editing link issue ?

Also send the link of the view where you want the edit link.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,
wonderful, but could you please explain how did you get that shortcode ? I tried again but my post-edit-link doesn't allow to select the content template. Please let me know so next time I won't bother you anymore 😉 thanks
BTW - I see that the link opens the content template in a new page, how do I make the link to open a PAGE I want (that includes the content template) ?
Regards
Nicola

Hi Nicola,

See my screenshot.

All I did was click on the Toolset Forms button. Select Edit Post Link

Then selected the content template where you had the edit form.

This will in turn generate the link to the edit form. There are also option to tell where you want the edit form to open. See Screenshot

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Nicola,

Awesome I was able to provide some clarity.

However "How to show the CT in the PAGE I want ?" Are you referring to how to assign a content template to a page ?

On the documents panel of your Content template there should be an area that would allow you to select the CPT that your content template should apply to.

Please let me know if you're able to see this area.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,
exctly. As you can see from the attached screenshot the right CT opens a "standard" page (and the form works fine), see the link in red. But I'd like to show the same CT on a page I build as part of the My Account section. The standard page doesn't exists in Pages, it's automatically created by WP calling the CT I believe, correct ?
Thanks

Hi Nicola,

You are correct in that it is dynamically created.

If you want to add an edit page to your account page you will need to add the form directly to the account page.

Lets say you have tabs on the side of your My Account page. One of the tabs could be the edit account tab and in that you will place the edit form.

You are not able to assign the content template that the edit form is placed in to a post or page.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,
I can surely create an edit page with including the edit form in my account, but I won't be able to select the store on that page (edit WHICH store ?), while If I want to "Edit this" (store) from the store list page I will have to live with the standard page. This is bad news, how is it possible that nobody else faced this issue before ? I am wondering if there is a way to call the edit page from the store list page composing the link passing the store name or id in the link ...... any clue ?

Regards
Nicola
