Upcoming Major Toolset Development
Layouts 1.0 – Layouts going out of beta
In parallel with this maintenance release, Toolset team is hard at work on new features. The upcoming release of Layouts 1.0 will be the first commercial version. This means that:
- Layouts will be fully compatible with all our products, including CRED and WPML. This is a big deal and it’s the first time any layout editor plugin for WordPress comes with full multilingual workflow.
- Layouts will be available for separate purchase, and will still be included in Toolset.
- Everyone who has a full Toolset package (yearly or lifetime) gets Layouts included, at no additional cost.
Views 1.7 with improved workflow for custom searches
Together with Layouts 1.0, we will also be updating Views to 1.7. This Views update will include a new and improved workflow for custom searches. We’ll write all about it when we have something to show.
New Website, Support System and Upgrade Mechanism
We are almost ready with a complete redesign of our wp-types.com website. Our new site will be responsive and built using our Layouts plugin. We hope you will like the new design.
Besides a fancy look, we are also revamping the support forum. The updated forum will include turbo-fast search with much improved accuracy. Our forum holds huge amounts of valuable knowledge and we intend to make it much more accessible.
Finally, with the new website code, we will be departing from our Installer plugin. The installation and auto-upgrade code will be part of Toolset plugins, without the need for an additional Installer plugin. Toolset will use the new installation system currently running on wpml.org.
Questions? Ideas? Suggestions? Leave your comments here and we’ll get back to you. For technical support, best use Toolset technical forum.
I can’t wait. And please tell me you guys have updated and consolidated your documentation so its not so fragmented and outdated. thanks for the hard work!
Hi guys, great plugins but any news on what’s happening with a replacement for Installer?
Sure. This coming week, we are updating our site, with a complete new design and backend functionality. This will include the support for an updated installation system. Then, we’ll be updating all Toolset plugins to retire the old Installer. It’s probably 2-3 weeks from now to complete this entire update. Thanks for hanging in there 🙂
