Johnny from The MotionEffect builds WordPress websites for clients. He admits he’s not much of a coder but needed a plugin to build all the features people asked for. That’s when he started using Toolset.
How experienced are you at coding?
I’m not really a coder. I do some CSS coding but I’ve always relied on plugins that covered the solutions I needed to come up with.
What problems were you experiencing before you used Toolset?
Well, we had to find a system that made it possible for us to build features that clients needed. We didn’t want to overload our websites with too many plugins so we wanted one set which covered everything.
Why did you choose Toolset?
It was good value for money. We saw how flexible it was and that it covered everything we wanted. The support was also quick and there were also so many updates that made it worth it.
What do you think of Toolset after using it
I think it’s excellent. You get everything in one package. You don’t have to research five different plugins when you have just one that can do what Toolset does.
I have never used a set of plugins that covers so many areas and ways of building things. All the features I was looking for I found in Toolset.
The interface is excellent. I’m not a coder, so I could never have built what I did myself. It’s a ready-made platform to build something by selecting and clicking simple choices with some minor HTML adjustments. That’s why Toolset is a great name because it is the complete toolset without needing to code.

What have you been able to create with Toolset?
With Toolset, we were able to create the custom post types we needed which look great.
We also made live custom search filters which are amazing. To be able to have four or five drop-down choices in just one search bar is neat. We were really happy with that function.
How has Toolset improved your business?
When it comes to WordPress, Toolset has helped my business because I know I can say yes to complex jobs. It was something I could never have done before.

How long would it take a beginner to build a website using Toolset?
I think someone could build a new website within 2 weeks if you work on it each day although it depends on the detail you want, of course.
I think that, personally, after using Toolset I can now probably build a website over the weekend!
