I am trying to set up a new custom post type with the regular slug and archive rewrite rules. For some reason WordPress is prepending "/blog/" onto the slug even though I have chosen to rewrite.
Solution:
The client fixes this by duplicating an existing custom post type and then changing the name and slug etc.
Problem: I would like to use the wpv-post-taxonomy shortcode to output only the top-level term associated with a post.
Solution: The wpv-post-taxonomy shortcode isn't filterable like this, so you would have to use a View of taxonomy terms, set by the current post, where the parent term is "None".
I activated it and the archive worked as desired.
I have a follow-up question about styling the list of posts.
I want to display the posts as an unordered list within each group of dates. Right now, the "ul" repeats itself each time for the loop, and I am getting spaces in between each item. The Inspector confirms that this is what's happening. See screenshots.

You can try to move the HTML "ul" tag to outsider ... , for example:
I'm wondering if this is why when I put a custom class into the Layouts CSS and JS, it doesn't affect the site, but when I put the same custom CSS in the Astra Customizer the style does apply.
I am loading Bootstrap using Twitter Bootstrap for WordPress plugin - don't know if that's relevant.
Is there a way to get the style sheet working so that my Layouts CSS and JS gets loaded to the whole site?
Solution:
I suggest you use Toolset's setting instead of other Bootstrap plugin:
Dashboard-> Toolset-> Settings-> Bootstrap loading, in section "Bootstrap loading", choose option "Toolset should load Bootstrap 3.0".
Toolset Settings > Layouts for "Load Custom CSS added using Layouts." set this to "On all pages"
The issue here is that the user wanted to know how was this support forum created and wonder if they could do the same with the toolset plugins.

Actually our forum is a highly customized version of the bbpress plugin.
I would not recommend trying to create a forum with only our toolset plugins, though it is possible but many features of a forum would require you to build out the pages manually. https://bbpress.org/
I recommend using the bbpress plugin as well.
