Relating post to user via author when user is not a author
Started by: henrikG
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I would like to relate a post to a user without that user being the author of the post. I would like to be able to create a View that filters based on the current User's ID, and only shows results that are related to that current User. Solution: Add a custom field to the post type and associate a User with a post by placing the User's ID in the custom field. This can be automated using CRED or some other process if necessary. Then filter based on that custom field value. Pass the current User's ID into the View filter by utilizing a shortcode attribute. Set up your filter to compare the custom field against the User ID passed in as an attribute. Relevant Documentation: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/passing-arguments-to-views/ |
