Problem:
Can I split a Parametric Search for a Hierarchic taxonomy into two Select Fields, so if I choose the Parent taxonomy in the first Select, I can then choose the Child taxonomy from the Second Select Field?

Solution:
No, this is not possible with Views parametric Search.

The parametric Search handle will always output the entire Taxonomy Tree, and you can not separate this in 2 different handles using a parametric Search.

What you can do, is use a nested View structure, in where the parent View is the taxonomy View which is returning terms (parents only, child terms only or both) and then in a second view you will list Posts with taxonomy Set by the parent View.

After you insert the Post View in the taxonomy view, and the latter into a Page.

But this will not fully replace a parametric Search.
