I went to Contact and then Pre-Sale questions. It directed me to the premium support forum. Doesn't make any sense, especially since I can't post in that forum since it's for customer who have purchased the product 🙁

I wanted to know if you can use this plugin to create user submitted blog posts? I would like my users to submit their own blog posts and also include images in their posts. How capable is Toolset in creating such a tool?

What sort of limitations will I bump into?

There are plugins that specifically are designed for this, but what about using Toolset for this?
Any pros? Cons?

Thank you for contacting Toolset Support. I am happy to help you with this.

Two plugins within the Toolset will help accomplish this:

Types:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/getting-starting-with-types/

CRED:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/learn-what-you-can-do-with-cred/

The backend set up is done with Types and then the frontend is handled with CRED.

I'm not sure how to answer the limitations question without more information. However, Types can be used to set up multiple field types such as images, checkboxes, dropdowns, etc as well handle multiple types of data. CRED is just as open.

What types of limitations are you concerned about with your project?

Well I'm looking at the popular WP plugins for front-end blog posts.
These look popular.

Some features included are:
- Ability to upload images and Including images inside blog content.
- User-post needing approval by admin or other role before publishing.
- Notification when a user edits their blog post
- Ability to lock a blog post once it's live (so it can't be edited without admin taking action)
- Expiration dates for bog posts
- Custom redirect after submitting blog post
- Pre-defined category for blog-post (in other words user doesn't have to select a category and doesn't see this field. The Blog form will post to a pre defined category and is set by the admin in the background)
