This is the community support forum for Types plugin, which is part of Toolset. Toolset is a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients and people who registered for Types community support can post in it.
I find that I'm unable to make use of the "Media" button in the various Views editors (Views Output Editor, etc.). The popup it displays always reports the Media Library to be empty, when in fact it is not. The Media button works as expected in the standard WP editors. What might lead to this behavior? I'm a new Toolset (and WP) user; might I have something misconfigured here?
This has been observed on two different WP 4.9 installations, running up-to-date versions of the Toolset plugins.
I haven't observed clients trying to add media in those editor sections of a View before, but there is no reason you shouldn't.
I have escalated this thread so that it can be investigated further, and I'll update you here when there is some news to report.
Note that this community forum is intended for users of the free Types plugin, and as a Toolset subscriber you can expect more prompt support in the "Technical Support" forum.
Turns out this issue arose a couple of years or more ago when it was determined that this is by design and will not be changed.
Views are not posts, they are a kind of template that may be exported and imported to other sites and as such they should be fully self-contained, which is why the Media library only presents images uploaded from the View itself.
