This is the community support forum for Types plugin, which is part of Toolset. Toolset is a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients and people who registered for Types community support can post in it.
Firstly, please note that you are posting in the Community Forum for users of the free Types plugin. As a Toolset customer you can and should post in the Technical Support forum which we prioritise and where you should receive speedier service.
You can design templates for any post type, including built-in post and page types, not just custom post types.
The steps are the same, if you follow the documentation you can either create templates using Views or Layouts for standard posts.
Go to the Toolset > Dashboard and create a template from there, or go to Toolset > Content Templates to create a Views Content Template, or if you are using Layouts, go to Toolset > Layouts and create one from there. Specify that the usage is for the post type you require, i.e. Posts.
