Elementor ShortCodes not rendered in View Loop Item or Content Template

Won't fix

Reported for: Toolset Views 2.6.4.2

Topic Tags: Views plugin

Symptoms

If you insert an Elementor shortcode into a View Loop template, or into a Content Template in general, the Elementor shortcode may not display its contents.

Workaround

Try to insert the shortcode directly into the Loop Editor if the issue happens in a Loop Item of a View, instead of a View Loop template (the “Templates for this View” section). This is also explained here.

Instead of using a Content Template assigned to posts, when using Elementor you would style your posts with Elementor, and eventually insert Content Templates in this design using Elementor’s Content Template widget.

5 thought on Elementor ShortCodes not rendered in View Loop Item or Content Template

    • It worked for us, maybe there are other settings or plugins breaking this on your site. I would suggest opening a ticket so we can look at it. However, note that this is generally speaking the wrong way to do it. With those shortcodes you display Templates. Rendering Templates within Templates is not the best approach.

However our Developers are aware of this, and the solution above worked on our tests, however, we might miss something, let’s look at it in a support ticket.

  • I’ve just tested this in the way you describe by doing the following.

    Create a view for cpt

Create an elementor template section with toolset types field values for same cpt

In view loop editor add shortcode for element pro template just created.

Works fine. However I’m just confirming this is the best way to do it as it seems too good to be true ?

Is there going to any other way do this in the future ?
This was one of the missing peices for me and now it seems not…

    • I don’t think this errata comment section is the best place to discuss this, I’d like to suggest our forums instead:
      https://toolset.com/forums/forum/professional-support/

There, Supporters can give you more detailed information.
As well it depends on what users do, so if we see many users that want a certain feature A to work we try to implement this, but it requires the Users to tell us (and Elementor as well, eventually) what is exactly needed.

For us there is no reason to “break” the current way you can use Elementor with Toolset, however, note that the span of integration done is majorly about inserting Toolset Elements to Elementor Templates (not the other way around).

      • I agree, probably not the best place – it was the best searchresult returned for my initial query 🙂

I’ll open a support ticket for my questions… but this is pretty good.
