Elementor elements can fail on posts are using a Content Template

Won't fix

Reported for: Toolset Views 2.7.2

Symptoms

If you display any Elementor shortcode, template, widget, library, pop-up template and other elements inside a Content Template, or on a post that has a Content Template assigned, those elements might stop working.

Also, if you apply site-wide templates like a header designed with Elementor, posts to which you assigned a Content Template might fail to display their content or the Elementor Template.

Workaround

Whenever you use Elementor you should not add or assign Content Templates to your pages or posts or content in general. You should also never use an Elementor design inside a Content Template.

Instead, you should use Content Templates only in the Elementor Widget prepared for it, and use Elementor Templates on your posts.

  • I have the same issue, and hoped that the new block editor plugin could somehow fix this. But my test shows that it does not.

    • This development doesn’t address any issue with other page builders. To do this, we’ll need to know what the issue is and work together with the Elementor team. I’m sure that you’ve already reported it. Can you please tell me where, so that I can also look?
