Problem:
In a many-to-many relationship the client wants to display related posts, sorted by a field on the related posts.
Solution:
The current implementation of many-to-many relationships involves creating an intermediate post type, and then creating a View which returns the intermediate posts with a filter for the parents on one side, while using the id attribute to display content from the parent on the other side.
That View can only filter by fields present on the intermediate post type itself, which means duplicating the field in question from the parent on the intermediate posts.
This will become redundant with the switch to Types 3.0, when it will eventually be possible to filter by fields of related posts.
The problem here is that the customer had his view and after filtering his view the post ordering doesn't work anymore.
Solution:
This issue was caused by the Post Type Ordering plugin. The plugin overwrites the ordering that was set in views. I would recommend disabling this plugin.
How can I pass an URL parameter to a Search, so that when a user clicks on a Link on page A, he is directed to Page B with a View, where a Custom Search (by URL parameter) should take the passed Parameter and present filtered results?
Solution
Create the View as usual and add a Custom Search by URL parameter.
Save the parameter for later usage.
Wherever you link to the page where the View is inserted to, please edit that Link and add the URL parameter to match the desired Search term.

Please adapt the "?url-parameter-set-in-view=value_to_search" part.
"url-parameter-set-in-view" will be the URL parameter as seen in the View Query Filter Settings, and "value_to_search" is the exact term to search by when clicking that link.
