Generate slide on my slider
Started by: martyB
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: The issue here is that the user had some repeated image fields and wanted to create a slider using these images. Solution: I managed to create a flexslider plugin that should be able to help your. Download and install the plugin in the link below. Then create a content template for your post and add the following. <div class="flexslider"> <ul class="slides"> [wpv-for-each field="wpcf-image_1"] <li>[types field="image_1" size="medium" align="none" resize="pad" padding_color="#FFF"][/types]</li> [/wpv-for-each] </ul> </div> After doing this then you will need to add the script for it to work. Add this to the js section of the content template. jQuery(window).load(function() { jQuery('.flexslider').flexslider(); }); |

Create 1 template for category archive with WPBAKERY
Started by: martyB
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I would like to create 1 template and add it to all of my categories...but after the website will be managed by someone who doesn't know a lot about code and I want to give him the possibility to change some elements. Solution: Scroll down to the Loop output editor of this WordPress Archive and click the "Skip wizard" link. Place your cursor inside the wpv-loop tags and click "Content Template". Create a new Content Template and assign it to this archive (see new-ct-for-archive.png). Then scroll down to the Template Editor and you will be able to design this template with WPBakery, and you can allow your site admins to edit that template later with WPBakery (see edit-ct-with-wpbakery.png). You should only use the hook wpv_filter_force_wordpress_archive if you want to use a template that is different from the one you assigned to the Category taxonomy (see new-wp-archive.png). Like for example, if you want to one WPBakery template created above for all terms in the Category taxonomy except "uncategorized", then you will create another WordPress Archive that is not assigned to any taxonomy or post type, and design its loop template with WPBakery like before. Then use the wpv_filter_force_wordpress_archive hook to show this new WordPress Archive if the current archive is "uncategorized". Relevant Documentation: |

Embed flexslider Code
Started by: martyB
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: Can I embed Toolset wpv-for-each shortcodes in my PHP templates to loop over repeating fields? Solution: No, you should use the native WordPress function get_post_meta to get the values of your repeating field, then loop over those values and output the proper HTML strings. This is not a trivial task. Here's a simple example of looping over a repeating image field in PHP: $string = ''; $medias = get_post_meta(12345, 'wpcf-wpcf-medias', false); foreach($medias as $img) { $string .= "<a href='" . $img . "'><img src='" . $img . "' /></a>"; } echo $string; Relevant Documentation: |

Post settings

Problem: Unfortunately no this won't be possible as the theme itself must allow for custom post types to use their settings. Some themes such as DIVI and AVADA allows this. What I would recommend is to contact your theme's support to see if they have a solution for this. |

How to use Layouts and Content Templates with the UNCODE theme
Started by: martyB
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I'm unable to get a Content Template to show up for my Custom Post Type. I'm using the UNCODE theme and Layouts. Solution: If you're using Layouts and you have assigned a Layout to the CPT, your Content Template will have no effect on the page design, because Layouts override Content Templates. You can design the main content area using Layouts, or you can insert a Content Template cell to use the design from a Content Template. No PHP changes should be necessary. |
