Problem: I would like to create a system where the User can generate a report showing posts of some kind, i.e. items. The User can choose a post published date range for the items, and can also specify which custom fields should appear in the report (the same fields displayed for all items in the report). Items are related to another post type patient in a one-to-many relationship...one patient, many items. So in the Report builder I would like the User to be able to select a patient, and only items related to that patient would appear in the results.
Solution: It's a complex setup that uses a new post Form and a View filtered by shortcode attributes. Details follow below.
In this users case they were unable to remove a post from a post relationship.
Solution:
I tried to do this to see if it was a replicable issue on a fresh install. Unfortunately I wasn't able to replicate.
This lead me to suspect a possible plugin conflict. After the user disabled all their non-toolset plugins they were able to disconnect the posts in the relationship.
Problem:
Toolset block view is not showing the search
Solution:
In this case, when I checked on user install I found that user checkmark the checkbox "Disable the wrapping DIV around the View" available at bottom of your view's page. I've unchecked it and I can see the filter with your page.
You can only checkmark the checkbox " Disable the wrapping DIV around the View " when you want to display raw output with your view without, pagination, custom search etc..
Problem:
How to only include posts in the results of a View where a custom field equals some value, but where the custom field might not exist for some posts.
Solution:
If you use the != comparison with a custom field filter it will exclude any posts where the field is not set, in which case you would need to modify the View arguments using the API to add a test for whether the field exists. (That's how WordPress queries work.)
