I am trying to:
Fix an error where for 6 years, a Toolset Gallery Field has successfully displayed masonry galleries of images on custom post type post pages. The site is an escort agency based in the UK so please do forgive me for some of the images you may see on the site.

I have recent updated the site and now no images show. The Toolset field is the dynamic source for images in an Ultimate Addons Pro Gallery field. If I edit the Elementor Theme Builder template for this CPT (Girl-001) and choose 'Post Image Attachments' in the gallery widget instead of Toolset Gallery Field, then all the images display. The masonry settings don't work with this though and it makes me nervous not choosing the Toolset field. I've tried choosing the Toolset field in other Gallery Widgets but the same problem occurs so I don't think the issue is the widget.

barenakedpixels.com is a clone of miltonkeynesescorts.com. I cloned miltonkeynesescorts.com before I started updating it to test things out (very glad I did) so you can see how things should look by looking at any of the posts clicked through from the gallery page on miltonkeynesescorts.com. If you scroll down on a post page you'll see a set of images in a masonry style gallery on the miltonkeynesescorts.com site (the original site), on the barenakedpixels.com site (the temporary clone of miltonkeynesescorts.com) you'll see a small black bar which is empty. That's where the missing images should be.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: hidden link

Instead, I got: hidden link

I would be very grateful if you could help fix this as my only choice if nothing can be done, is to rebuild a new site from scratch using different tools. I have retired from web designing so this is going to be quite stressful for me. I'm hoping you will be able to help.

As the clone is a temporary site, you are welcome to log in if that would help. You can disable plug ins and try things out. I have a back up of the theme, plugins and database.

Your FTP fields below in Grant Access don't show the port number so I've added the extra details you need here:
FTP & explicit FTPS port: 21
Leaving the path for FTP blank in your connection will get you into the main home directory. The site files are in public_html

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Many thanks,
Barry.

Hi Bary,

Welcome to Toolset support. I checked the website. The oroblem is that the change is done on Ultimate Addons Pro Gallery plugin as you use that plugin and use the dynamic source feature of the plugin.

The way Toolset work does not change. So I am not sure how we can help here as we do not know the details on the plugin code you mentioned.

I suggest that you do a test by adding a new view in a legacy mode:

- Go to "Toolset > Settings > General".
- Find the "Editing experience" section.
- Check the "Show both the legacy and Blocks interface and let me choose which to use for each item I build" checkbox.
- Reload the browser page.
- Go to the newly added "Toolset > Views" menu.
- There you will be able to edit the views.

For more information:
https://toolset.com/course-lesson/enabling-legacy-version-of-toolset-views/

Follow the steps below to create the gallery with Toolset:
https://toolset.com/documentation/legacy-features/views-plugin/create-image-galleries-using-repeating-custom-fields/

See if it works, if yes then you can use the shortcode of the view inside Elementor for the gallery.

Thanks.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for such a detailed reply, and quickly received too! I will try as you suggest but it might be too much for me to re-learn how to do things. Might there be another gallery widget that you know works with my current Toolset field? If I could simply get another gallery widget, even if I have to pay for it, then that would be easier for me. So maybe you could suggest something for me?

Many thanks,
Barry.

Hi Christopher,

Sorry to add more text but I looked at the first link and it's all about Blocks. I don't know what blocks are. I use Elementor. So when it mentions blocks, does it mean an Elementor container?

Many thanks,
Barry.

Hi Christopher,

Last message I promise. I just don't know what to do. I enabled legacy in Toolset Settings. I clicked 'add view' and pasted the first bit of code from the 2nd link you sent into the loop editor and the css code into the css field but when I saved the view all I got were errors. I simply do not understand what a view is anymore. I did struggle all those years ago when I created the site but now I have no idea what I'm doing. Is there anything you can do to help if there is no other gallery widget I can use with my toolset field. Id be very grateful for any further help as I'm floundering. Many thanks, Barry.

Hi Christopher,

I think I've almost done it! I managed to save a view and added the code into the content template. I changed the field name from 'gallery' to 'girl-images' and the images now display on the post page. So that in itself is a miracle.....but I can't get the styling to work so it displays as a 2 column masonry grid. I set up the loop wizard initially as 'unformatted' and have just changed that to a bootstrap 2 column grid then pasted in the edited code for the content template to show my field name but nothing has changed. So am I nearly there? Is there a small chance you might be able to help me finish this off. I'm surprised I've got as far as I have to be honest.

Many thanks, Barry.

Hi Barry,

I can take a look at the view that you have created, the trick in the legacy views is to use the tb-repeating-field–masonry class per the documentation I shared.

Please consider that it will not be a full-fledged masonry gallery, but it should do the trick.

I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the View I created is called Image Gallery Test.

Many thanks,
Barry.
