The “Divi Layout” block is missing when editing a Content Template

Resolved

Reported for: Toolset Views 3.0.2

Resolved in: 3.1.0

Symptoms

When a Content Template is been edited, the “Divi Layout” block is missing from the collection of the available blocks.

Workaround

This issue will be fixed in the next version of Toolset Views.

In the meantime, this patch can be applied by unzipping it and uploading the files it contains to replace the ones with the same name. The files are:

  • backend.php in /vendor/toolset/toolset-common/user-editors/editor/screen/gutenberg
  • backend_editor.css in /vendor/toolset/toolset-common/user-editors/editor/screen/gutenberg

Also, if you have another Toolset plugin installed, you might need to replace those same files in the exact same locations.

3 thought on The "Divi Layout" block is missing when editing a Content Template

  • Apart from the Divi layout block being available, have Toolset tested that it fully works?

I have been able to swap out the files in the patch on two sites, one on Varying Vagrant Vagrants and another on my SiteGround hosting. In both instances I can load the Divi block but when I activate it to load the Divi builder, the spinning Divi loader appears for ages and eventually arrives at a blank interface. The top bar with the close X is the only element visible. I also tested loading a layout with the pre-made template interface and it takes ages to load…nothing?

I will try again later. I do know that the VVV local server can be temperamental and my SiteGround hosting looks very sluggish today, so perhaps some sort of time outs. I have tested with main Divi theme installed and all other plugins off.

Again can you confirm that the patch actually works, beyond just being able to access and put the Divi block into the block editor.

    • We are in contact with Divi about this – I can however not promise anything just yet (solutions will depend on time and possibility of the respective dev teams). I will ASAP test the solution above for what you mention and ensure that if this gets added as support, it will work (note that this is, in fact, a new feature, not a existing which broke. This is why it may require more time)

Thanks for the heads up, I will keep you in the loop here

    • Stephen, I can’t replicate what you mention, for me the Divi Layouts block works, both creating or choosing from the library, when I use CT edited with the Blocks editor where we use the Divi Layouts block.

Of course, since there are about 10 expectations to “not do” when using Divi, I might miss something that you do on your site 🙂
Mind to add a Support ticket, so we can look at this separately? It doesn’t seem related to the reported issue in this Erratum.
