Frontend search not working after clicking the Submit button

Resolved

Reported for: Toolset Views 2.1

Resolved in: Toolset Views 2.2

Symptoms

On Toolset Views 2.1, a View with a frontend custom search that should get results without reloading the page when clicking the Submit button will fail to get search results if it is also set to display all options for all filters.

Workaround

This bug will be solved in our next release. On the meantime, this patch can be applied by uploading the file it contains to replace the one with the same name located under /embedded/res/js/wpv-pagination-embedded.js.

Note that this patch was created against Toolset Views 2.1 and should not be used with any other version.

  • Not only the submit button is not working. Also the reset-button and the parametric search. Click on reset and no drop-down menu reacts anymore. Only the refresh of the page brings it back. The search:’Choose one field in first drowdown selection, does not sort out the fields in the next dropdown menu. Alway all fieds are available.
Tested the patch, does not help. Installed views 2.0.0 again and all works fine. (Genesis, with Layouts, WP 4.5.3)

    • Hi Angele

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues.

Could you please open a support ticket describing your problem? Our support team will manage that ticket and check whether we have another bug, and in case needed a new errata will be published.

      Thanks in advance.

  • I too am having a possibly related issue with views 2.1 that has been in support without a solution since June 15… have been having some communication problems with Minesh.

In a nutshell, the parametric search stopped working and I just get a randomised selection of posts rather than a selection linked to the users selection via the filters.

    see: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/parametric-search-is-broken-since-latest-plugin-updates/

This is not causing me a problem as I rolled back to views 2.0 and everything works fine again… can you please make sure the upcoming update to Views addresses this issue?

    Cheers

    Peter
