The Fields and Text block is broken by the WordPress 6.1 update.
Where you have a Fields and Text block added to a page or template, it will show an error placeholder: This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.
The issue is raised with the developers, the only “workaround” for now is to not update to WordPress 6.1. (You can downgrade WP versions with the plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-downgrade/.)
Hi. Do we have an estimated time for a fix for this?
We are as well waiting for a fix for this.
Hi,
It would be helpful to see progress here, because this is a critical bug after all.
We have a fix for this together with another couple of minor issues related to WordPress 6.1 and a hotfix release should be going out soon. We just need to go through the usual build and testing steps, but all being well it shouldn’t be much longer.
Thanks Nigel
Thanks. Glad to hear that the bug will be fixed soon.
I’m waiting for this fix as well.
Hi,
any news about this upgrade?
I can’t downgrade my WP version because of website doesn’t work fine if I do that.
Thank you for your help.
Great to hear!
Any progress in fixing this bug?
Any progress on this please? I am having the same issue on my site and it’s really annoying, this is a brand new website under development and I cannot afford to downgrade WordPress just to fix this issue while all other installed plugins are working just fine!
Still waiting for this ESSENTIAL functionality to be restored. =(
Sorry everyone, it is taking a while for the Systems team to complete the testing and necessary steps for the plugin updates to be released.
So for this particular issue, I have uploaded a pre-release version of Toolset Blocks 1.6.4 which you can download from here: https://toolset.com/patches/toolset-blocks.develop.1893307.zip
It should be identical to the version that will hopefully be published some time this week, and you shouldn’t need to take any extra steps other than installing this update.
Hi Nigel,
Thank you for providing us with an update.
I have just installed the provided version of Toolset Blocks 1.6.4, and can confirm that it indeed fixes the given issue.
I worked with my students this Monday, when we faced this issue which was new for our setup (I did install all available module updates and wp core updates prior to starting the class). It was at the end of the classes and I realised we’re running PHP 7.4 which I thought was the issue and we decided to tackle in time for our next meeting (next Monday).
Thank you for providing this update just in time, so we can continue developing our school-library management web-app.
Thank you. I was panicking.
after installing patch I’m getting 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable on the content template block editor. HELP. on deadline and didn’t realize the editor wasn’t working.
update – able to edit after disabling cloudflare. not a good solution.
Were there any errors in your debug.log before you disabled cloudflare? The problem only occurs after updating Blocks to this patch version?
If you have errors to share can you please open a support thread?
