All in One SEO plugin conflict with Types provoking errors on post edit screens

Won't fix

Reported for: Toolset Types 3.3.10

Topic Tags: Types plugin

Symptoms

There’s an issue that happens with the 3.4.2 version of the All in One SEO plugin when the Toolset Types plugin is active. It triggers JavaScript errors on post edit screens in the backend.

The errors may include one of the following:

  • ReferenceError: wpv_add_conditional_quicktag_function is not defined
  • Failed to initialize plugin: wpv_add_views_conditional_button

Errors occur when using the Block editor (Gutenberg), or using the Classic editor if a Types custom field group that includes a repeatable field group is assigned to the post.

Workaround

This issue is caused by the All In One SEO Pack Plugin which deregisters the wplink scripts. These are native WordPress Core scripts that are often used by other software to add or manipulate the editor experience.

This means, any plugin relying on the script will fail to function if All In One SEO Pack is active.
