My client (a book publisher) is launching a new commentary series with 35 volumes, all written by different authors. I used custom post types for books, authors, endorsements, and soon-to-come FAQs. Views with filters automatically move books from "coming soon" to "now available" simply by changing a category in their custom taxonomy. I love how I only need to edit the data for a book (or author, etc) in only one place no matter how many places it is displayed throughout the site. This will also make the addition of new volumes as they are released a breeze!
