We used Toolset Types and Toolset Views in the creation of our CATalog for this site. Our CATalog is a directory of all the cats currently available for adoption at Good Mews, Metro Atlanta's first cage-free, no-kill cat shelter. When we began building our brand new site on WordPress, we searched exhaustively for a plugin that would provide us with what we were looking for to showcase our adoptable cats. It was important that we have a full-feature search function which is missing from almost all sites similar to ours. It was also crucial that we house the database rather than entering our information into another company's database so that eliminated using the typical avenues which are most prevalent on sheltering sites. We had an idea of how we wanted it to look and feel but were having trouble finding it. We discovered that what we wanted did not exist. We began consulting with others in the WordPress community and stumbled upon Toolset. Our developer, who created our site pro bono, is actually more of an administrator in her day job but she has some coding knowledge and was able to learn Toolset and create our CATalog exactly how she wanted it. Interestingly enough, she also discovered that the company for which she works could benefit from Toolset and so her employer also become a customer. We have been super happy with Toolset and we get tons of compliments not only on the new site in general (it was a MASSIVE upgrade from the old one) but particularly on our CATalog with our search functions.
