Toolset Maps allows you to add nicely designed maps with some complex logics to your site, at the moment it relies on you having an account with Google or Azure Maps and using those services’ APIs.
We don’t currently have any plans to add OpenStreet Maps support, though that could change in the future.
See this forum thread for a suggestion on how to reduce Google API costs by using the Static Maps API in some scenarios: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/without-openstreet-maps-how-can-we-make-google-maps-cheaper/
Hi Toolset Team,
Please can you raise this feature request up the priority list. It’s a very popular feature request and it’s already supported by other directory plugins I’ve been evaluating (e.g. Directorist).
We should be using and supporting more open source resources and not relying on the tech giants.
Many thanks in advance.
+1!
+1 to this one as we’re using another mapping plugin for this, where we’d prefer for the whole solution to be within toolset and can’t justify the prices Google / Azure want to charge for their maps.
Hello, is there any update on this? Could really do with this for an upcoming project…would be great to be able to have a Blocks based Open Source Map View solution (even if having having a plugin like https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/leaflet-map/ installed is a prerequisite). Thanks!
Hi there,
Any news or updates about Open street map extension available on toolset ? May I suggest using Map Tiler also.
Please let the Web Free and Open.
Best,
Pierre
Hi,
Any news?
thanks!!
I’d like to +1 this also.
+1 for Open Streets Map.
Please make it true.
1+ for OSM
1+ for OSM !
Is there an ETA on this functionality?
Hi Kate, no, we do not have an ETA for this feature to be added.
+1 from me too. It looks like Google Maps is assumed to load on each page load, with no way to do it on demand when the user needs it. That’s too expensive. OpenStreetMap is essential to make maps affordable for websites with a lot of pageviews.
Apart from that, loading a map on demand and/or in a tab would be very welcome too, regardless of the type of map.
Looked into Toolset, the only thing missing is Open Street map. Because of gdpr and cost.
Is there a plan to add it, and when yes when?
We would love to have Open Street map. We need a Non-Google solution.
Please add OSM to toolset as an option. Google maps is counting much more api requests in toolset then actual page visits registered. Open license maps should be added to give toolset users free choice and control IT tech giants footprints everywhere.

Support for osm please or other privacy secure alternatives. Data privacy is needed more than ever. Google maps nor microsoft azure can be trusted for that in any way.

We are operating websites in Germany. Germany and the EU both hate us by making our lives difficult with GDPR regulations.
We are facing a lawsuit for using Google fonts directly from Google. What a mistake!
However, Google Maps also pulls Google fonts. The only way to make the website usable and GDPR compliant is to remove Google Maps and use a service such as OpenStreet Maps.
Please add this feature as soon as possible. Thank you!
+1 for OSM in Toolset
I need it urgently!

I have many sites created with Toolset, using it since 2010, and still waiting for OpenStreetMap to be integrated. Currently using other plugins to manage maps but looking forward to using Toolset Maps instead
Please, please, please 🙏🙏🙏
+1 please

Putting my voice here as well +1 for OSM!
+1 … Not adding OSM support for so many years is a huge downside. Especially for EU customers. I otherwise would be in the checkout process right now.
I commented here 2 years ago. Just checking in to put another +1.
It’s time to integrate this. Really. Google and co can be very expensive for certain sites. And they all collect all the data at the same time, free of charge. As for the maps. This alternative must be possible. Otherwise, all the cool things that Toolset can do are useless or will cost.
Hmmm, to bad this seems not to have been implemented yet. Here too we really need an OS alternative to google maps.
