Resolved
Resolved in: Toolset Types 2.1
Changing columns in Visual Composer editor ends in a javascript error. This issue occurs when Layouts or Views are active together with Types.
This issue will be fixed in the next release of Types, Views and Layouts.
In the meantime, you can update Types plugin to current Development Version and this will resolve the issue.
Download and install Types from the following link: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/types.zip
Where can i download the “Development Version”? Issue still exist in actual Version 2.0.1
Hi PLI
You can follow the link in the errata workaround, which will let you download the development version ZIP from wordpress.org itself: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/types.zip
Regards.
Ahh, so javascript errors that are thrown from Visual Composer editor are happening because of Views and Types? Errors I am seeing are “Maximum call stack size exceeded.” I am using Views 2.0 and Types 2.0.1
Yes exactly. One of our backbone.js extension did not work with some objects Visual Composer generates. It’s solved in the development version of Types, which can be downloaded here: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/types.zip
Hello! I download that version, but still not working. I can’t SAVE anything in Visual composer! Please help with this!
Is this the same or similar error that Prevents Avia Builder in Enfold Theme from working? Can we have a fix for that too please?
Hi,
I installed the development-version but the error still occurs. I am basically able to save in Visual Composer. The error seemes to be caused by ajax.
Any solutions?
Hi Richard,
thanks for your feedback. Can you please clean your cache to be sure the new javascript files are loaded. If you still have the issue can you send me the error message, which is shown in your developer console?
Thanks,
Christian
Here’s the error-message:
too much recursion

That exact issue should be solved with the current development version of Types. It would be great if you could contact me and grant me access or provide me a duplicator image of your site.
My email is christian.g@onthegosystems.com
I sent you the credentials. Thanks in advance.
Working now. Thanks for your great support.
I’m experiencing a similar issue with a theme running visual composer, types and views. With Views and Types deactivated, the content and site functions properly. Activate the two plugins, and the site’s content disappears.
WP ver 4.5.2
VC ver. 4.11.2.1
Types ver. 2.0.1
Views ver. 2.0
Would love for someone to take a look to see what might be causing the issue. I have other sites with similar setup running without error. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Are you seeing this happening with the “standard” Visual Composer, or with Visual Composer integrated inside a theme?
Hi,
The ‘save changes’ issue in Visual Composer still exists even with the development version
WP 4.5.2
VC 4.11.2.1
Types 2.0.1.1
Appreciate any feedback on how to solve this issue
Thanks!
Hi,
Clearing the browser cache solved the problem after i uploaded the dev version overwriting the standard current version.
Thx
After reading about issue, I have installed Beta 2.1 of toolset, running integrated VC Version 4.11.3. Still experiencing issue where I ADD i.e. POST GRID, and it does not save after I make settings. (or add type in Text box, etc). I have cleared caches. If I UPDATE page, I’m sometimes able to then edit some fields, but still others not at all. There was a recent VC update to 4.12 which I won’t get until theme releases next major update, but this board seems to indicate there is no issue with 4.11.2 and toolset. Concerned that when our site goes LIVE and Beta becomes new release, this will continue to be an issue. Difficult to build our site to completion.
Leslie, we’ve seen some differences between the full VC and the VC version included in different themes. Could you put us in contact with the theme developer? We’ll need to understand what customizations exist in your version of VC, so we can understand what’s causing this.
In addition to what Amir said, please update Types to 2.1 (https://toolset.com/home/types-manage-post-types-taxonomy-and-custom-fields/). That should solve the problem with not being able to save (at least for post/pages). Content Templates are a bit special, we had problems there with some customization in VC done by theme authors as Amir said.
