Won't fix
Reported for: Toolset Maps Beta 0.9
When using a Toolset Maps plugin, there can be a JavaScript issue logged in the console, related to the Google Maps script. This happens when the current theme or some third party plugin is loading the Google Maps API too, usually using another handle.
There is no specific workaround at this moment. It is advised to not use the Toolset Maps with a theme and/or plugin that load the Google Maps API too.
Toolset should be able to check when its shortcodes are loaded, and more specifically when the map shortcode is loaded, and only output the map scripts then. You can also include an optional checkbox which would load google maps globally. option #3: You can disable toolset’s maps scripts on all pages by default and have a checkbox on each view/content template page saying [ ] load google maps script (but I think the first one is the most elegant and user friendly). Slider Revolution by themepunch does that with its scripts.
Hi Adrian, Amit here, I am the Toolset support manager,
Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll be discussing this with our development team, it makes sense to me to add some mechanism to enable/disable the reading of JS scripts when there’s a conflict.
If this goes through we’ll add to one of our future development cycles, and update here, please note that not all features get prioritized in the same way and it might take a long while before this one is added.
Cheers!
