Problem submitting edit forms via ajax when multiple forms are output by a View

Resolved

Reported for: Toolset Forms 2.2.1.1

Resolved in: 2.4

Symptoms

There is an issue where Toolset forms, displayed inside a View that lists posts, do not save data after the first submit.

This issue happens when the following conditions are met in your site:

  • You have some posts.
  • You create a form for editing post, and enable the following options:
    • Submit this form without reloading the page (use AJAX)
    • Keep displaying this form after submission
  • Create a View that lists posts and displays the post-editing form you created.
  • Insert this View into a page.

On the front-end, when you submit the second or any other following forms, it works only the first time. When you submit them again, the submit button is “frozen”.

Workaround

There is currently no workaround for this issue.

Our developers are aware of it and will fix it as soon as possible.

  • What I have noticed is that when I have forms for multiple posts listed within a loop in a single view, then whenever I click submit for any forms accept for form #1, the form ID of this other form updates to the form ID of form #1. This is visible in the developer panel. Then upon clicking submit on Form #2 again (note that hitting submit the first time did not submit the form but just changed its ID), it actually ends up submitting the first form.

By when can we expect a fix for this as I am working on a website that I need to use next week.

Thanks for your investigations, as mentioned in this errata, we have debugged the issue and reported it to the development team.

I checked our internal queues and contacted the responsible developer and found that this has been fixed in Forms 2.4.

To be honest, this is not to be fixed in the next week and we can’t estimate accurately when we can launch Forms 2.4 but we are working hard to make it live as soon as possible.
