Reported for: Toolset Types 3.3.11
Resolved in: Types 3.3.12
The Types 3.3.11 release included an update related to the new handling of very large images introduced in WP 5.3.
This is known to provoke a fatal error in at least two image optimisation plugins (Smushit and Imsanity). Exact details of the error differ, but both report
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught ArgumentCountError: Too few arguments to function
...
and the cause is the same in both cases.
This is fixed with Types 3.3.12
Quick question: This update to fix the issue above is showing as available for some of my websites which use Toolset Types but not all of them, even when I click “Check for Updates”. Do the updates get rolled out slowly to certain websites rather than all at once?
Plugin updates are typically released to a percentage of clients initially, but in this case the update was made available to 100% of clients immediately. In any case, clicking the “Check for Updates” button should always find the latest available versions. If you still find that on some sites the update isn’t available, can you please open a support thread for that issue (rather than the issue of this erratum).
Thanks Nigel – the remaining websites which didn’t offer the update have done so this morning, following a click of the “Check for Updates” button.
