Edit forms expand shortcodes in edited post content if inserted directly in a View loop

Symptoms

If a View includes a Form to edit posts directly in its output (rather than linking to the edit form) then any shortcodes which are included in the content of the posts are expanded in the edit form.

Saving the form will then save the expanded text of the shortcode rather than the shortcode itself.

Workaround

This is not possible to fix Users are invited to use the recommended workflow.

Place the edit form inside an unassigned content template, and then in the output section of the View insert a link to the edit form (using the Toolset Forms button) rather than inserting the form itself.
