DIVI Builder throws a 404 when editing a Content Template with it

Resolved

Reported for: Toolset Views 2.7.1

Resolved in: Views 2.7.2

Topic Tags: Views plugin

Symptoms

When you edit a Content Template with Divi Builder on a site running WordPress 5.0+ version, the Divi front-end Builder cannot be loaded and a 404 Page Not Found error is thrown instead.

Workaround

There is no solution for this that is stable enough to suggest for production sites.

Tentatively you can disable Gutenberg, but we found issues when you do so, hence we cannot recommend it.

  • I made a wrong move, I clicked the new builder link (which doesn’t work), now I’m stuck and can’t switch back to classic divi builder. The link doesn’t work.

    • I was testing the DIVI theme and apart of the above issue, there is at least one more where our Toolset Buttons do not work in the DIVI Front End Editor.

To analyse the issue you describe I will need a ticket and a precise description of what you mean with “New Builder” and “Doesn’t work”.
==> Do you mean DIVI’s new backend, visual builder?

Please report this to the support, as it sounds a little different than what is reported here.

      • I confirm if you click on “Switch to the new builder” then you get a JS error and things don’t work.
If you STAY in the “classic” builder, then above workaround works
        This seems due to Views.

        I have already reported it.
I saw no option to switch back.

    • I removed the workaround as it can break the builder as well. Hence, currently there is no workaround.

    • We are on this, it is not yet clear where (DIVI; Builder, Gutenberg, Toolset) is the core issue, but we will find and fix this, or/and involve the required 3rd parties.

  • I think I have the same issue as well. I am using Divi Builder on Divi Theme and when I used the Text Module and try to select Fields and Views or Forms – the buttons are not working and I cannot be used. I believe that Toolset is working on this as well. Thank you .

    • Hi Daniel

We are expecting to publish a Views hotfix this week with a solution to this issue.

      • Where could we see when the solution is posted? I am also waiting for this solution. Thanks.

        • I’m sorry, Never mind the question. I now know where the issues are tracked (right here).

  • The issue is resolved with last week’s update to Views 2.7.2, thanks for your patience.
