Checkboxes set to save 0 if empty do not save anything if they are updated through a Parent Post and not checked

Symptoms

When you have Checkboxes set to save 0 if not checked, they do not save 0 when you update them through a parent post edit screen. Instead, nothing is saved.

Workaround

Save the checkboxes values on the Child Post Edit Screen after you edited the parent post.
