The Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area for the Sudbury Assabet and Concord river watersheds is an association of area conservation trusts, municipal conservation commissions, and others with a shared interest in managing invasive species in these watersheds. The CISMA-SuAsCo website was running on an older version of Drupal which lacked mobile friendliness, had some security issues and wasn't very easy to manage.

The site features information on invasive species, member organization projects, and invasive species control methods. It was a natural fit for Toolset. Implementing these as custom post types with custom fields, custom taxonomies and relationships made the site much easier to manage and less error-prone. Rather than repeat all the species or control method information in each project, dynamic links are presented based on the relationships between the post types. Species can be navigated by native range, habitat or project towns through a mix of custom taxonomies and Views.

Projects are custom post types with fields that correspond to the data collection form (soon to be a Toolset Form) so that the data is collected uniformly and presented the same way for each project.

A highly customized map was needed to display clusters of invasive species in the area. We didn't use Toolset Maps for the map but we did use custom fields on invasive species to link the infoboxes on the map to the EddMapS record of the species report.
