I'm building a 'book resume' type, I'm trying to display a slider showing, once at a time, the content of the custom field 'review' (which is a repeating text field, reviews collected from 3rd party sources)

Is there any documentation that you are following?

I tried with your lessons about sliders but it doesn't seem to work for repeating text fields

But as you want to build the slider using repeating fields:

If you are using Toolset Blocks, first try to enable the legacy mode:
