Problem: I would like to use a URL path that includes more than 20 characters, but custom post type slugs are limited to only 20 characters.
Solution: Use the custom rewrite option in the post type editor to supply a longer URL rewrite rule.

Hello, I'm attaching the same screenshot here. This shows the rewrite option panel for a custom post type where the URL rewrite option contains a slug longer than 20 characters. Hopefully this gives you the information you need.
