I added a list of countries to my user registration form, and I set USA for default since most of my clients will be from there. However, the form keeps displaying the first item, Afghanistan, as default.
How can I set it right?
I changed the file but the problem is still there.
When I disable default, it says "--- Not Set ---" but when I pick a default value, regardless what I choose, it displays the first item.
The same problem happens with both Selects in that form - country and US state.
I just noticed that it is actually working properly on the WordPress Admin page if I add a new user there, it only doesn't work on the front-end. Maybe this info helps in figuring it out.
Could you please send me steps to reproduce your issue with problem URL?
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. If you agree to this, please use the form fields I have enabled below to provide temporary access details (wp-admin and FTP).
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
