I am interested in creating a form to enter product details into a database. The form should capture details such as model, engine, and wheels, with each entry needing a unique ID for later searches.
Solution:
To set up a form in Toolset that allows product entry, first create custom fields specific to the product details (e.g., engine, model, wheels) and assign them to a custom post type, such as "Product." Then, use Toolset to create a form that includes these fields, enabling users to add products directly to the database. Each entry will have a unique ID, making it searchable later. Problem:
Customer would like some insight in the update process of the Toolset plugins
Solution:
I shared with him two alternative to perform the update, automatically and manually.
For updating your Toolset components, you have a couple of options.
1- Automatic Update via the plugins page:
- Inside your wp-admin please go to Plugins -> Add New.
- Then click on the "Commercial" tab and click on the "Check for updates" button in the Toolset section
- After that please select every red plugin available in the list and then click on "Download" at the bottom of the grid.
2- If the automatic method is not suitable for you, you can also manually update your plugins. Here's how:
- Backup your website: Ensure you have a recent backup of your site's files and database.
- Deactivate and Delete Old Plugins: Navigate to wp-admin -> Plugins, deactivate and delete the current Toolset plugins.
- Download New Versions: Visit your Toolset account downloads page (https://toolset.com/account/downloads/) and download the latest versions of the plugins you need.
- Install New Plugins: Go to wp-admin -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin. Upload and activate the plugins you just downloaded.
Problem:
Customer wanted to check the current versions of Toolset and how is the process of updating/keeping it up-to-date Solution:
I referred him to our downloads page and sent a list with all Toolset plugins current version. I also explained how to update manually and via plugins page:
For you to check if there are updates available you can go to wp-admin > dashboard > updates or wp-admin > plugins > add new > commercial tab.
Please make sure to refresh the results by clicking on check again. If there are any updates available, they'll be listed in there and you'll be able to proceed to the update.
Alternatively, you can upgrade Toolset plugins manually by following this procedure:
1) Backup your website database
2) Deactivate/delete old version of Toolset Types plugin
3) Download the latest version of Types plugin here: https://toolset.com/account/downloads/
click link "Download Toolset manually"
4) Upload/activate Types plugin in your website manually
