I created a new page cleared my cache and am not sure why I can't select the search page to show results and separate the form and search

That is really strange. Can you please share problem URL where you want to display search form and on what page you want to display search result?

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
