Poner una classe dentro de un Shortcode

Hola Buenos dias, tengo este Shortcode que muetra las categorias de una entrada,

[wpv-post-taxonomy type="categoria-noticia"]

Ahora muetra un enlace de cada categoria lo que necesito es canviar el enlace por un button, como podria hacer para que dentro del chortcode pudiera poner una class o directamente indicarle que en lugar de un link que sea un button.
Si solo es una sola categoria no habria problema pero en el caso que tenga varias categoria, no se como hcerlo.

Por defecto cuando hay varias términos se usa una coma como separador, pero se puede personalizarlo.

En este caso podemos efectivamente envolcrar cada enlace en un elemento button así:

<button class='mi-clase'>
[wpv-post-taxonomy type="categoria-noticia" separator="</button><button class='mi-clase'> "]
</button>
