I am trying to:
Load a pattern that I've loaded a million times before into a page I'm editing.
Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
It's not published, and it's not page specific. It happens on a blank new test page.
I expected to see:
I expected the pattern to load.
Instead, I got:
"The editor has encountered an unexpected error."
And got kicked out of the page I was editing.
NOTE: I've used a dummy url in the backup section of this form - I have backups stored on Kinsta, but I'm not able to log in right now because of 2-factor authorization and my client isn't available. I do have daily backups, if that's a concern. I just need this issue answers as soon as possible. Thanks!
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
We have a known issue with where patterns are broken with WP 6.6.1 when build using Toolset when view is used and pattern is created from inside view's loop.
Have you added pattern inside view/archive loop?
I would like to have bit more information. What does the pattern include and where you are trying to add the pattern?
Thanks for getting back to me. The pattern was not created from inside a view.
I have a custom post type (Events). I have a Toolset content template for that post type. The pattern was created while inside a draft page for Events, which uses the Toolset content template.
The pattern includes only Toolset containers and normal WP blocks (paragraphs, lists, etc). Possibly there are Toolset images in there. But no views - nothing complex. Very basic content.
I've tried adding the pattern both to a new draft Event (which is where I typically add it) and to a new WordPress page. Same error each time.
Actually, I tried something new just now - it actually seems related to whether a pattern is SYNCED or not. Synced patterns seemed to be causing the problem. When I save a new pattern (copying the code from the old pattern) as an unsynced pattern, then it loads correctly.
I won't be able to downgrade. I need to hand the site off in a week or so.
I've recreated the patterns as unsynced where I could, but there are still active synced patterns that are being used throughout the site. I'm hesitant to mess with them. It appears that the only problem is adding NEW patterns, not displaying patterns that have already been added. Although, again, I'm hesitant to even check it in case I break anything.
If you could let me know if you find anything further out or have any other workarounds, I would appreciate it!
I do not have any quick solution. I need a staing site where I can see the issue and I need clear steps that should help me to reproduce the issue.
Once I confirm - I will escalate it to our next level support and our Devs will try to fix it in near future and fix will be published with future plugin release. Please note that there will be no ETA on it.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
Is it enough for me to provide you with a download of the full backup of the site so you can set up a staging site?
Or do you need me to set up an entire new staging site on Kinsta (my hosting provider)?
