I am trying to: Show a map to a venue on the front end. The address is added as a custom post type field. e.g. Malahide, Co. Dublin, Ireland and appears fine in Admin.

When I go to Front end it is showing somewhere in the Bahamas or somewhere.

My API dashboard reports errors but displays no info on any errors.

The console shows no errors when the page loads either.

Strange and difficult to debug.

Any ideas?

I visited this URL: hidden link

I expected to see: hidden link
with a geolocation of the venue.

Instead, I got: hidden link
a map of the pacific!

Hi David

This problem comes up fairly often and in my experience has always resulted from problems with the url referrer for the Google maps api key.

For testing, can you first remove any url restrictions with the api key. You may have to wait a few minutes, but I expect that when you re-visit the page on the front end you should find the map correctly centred.

You can then try to add whatever url referrer restrictions you require. The documentation for that is here: hidden link

I have found that it typically requires a certain amount of trial-and-error to get it right.

Let me know if you have continued problems.

Son of a b......
yeah that worked.
I have used that method to resolve before, just not enough sleep, of coffee
or both today.

Strange though that the Google API dashboard shows errors but no info at all.
Have you ever seen or resolved that out of interest.

No worries either way and thanks a mill for the pointer.
Cant recommend this piece of kit enough - toolset all the way.

Thanks a mill

David
