I am trying to: Use a Font Awesome icon in the content of a WYSIWYG field.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: lien caché

I expected to see: A Font Awesome icon where I placed it in the content.

Instead, I got: The icon shows at first, but any time I edit the field, the icon is replaced with <p> </p>. Something is stripping out the Font Awesome icon code and I want to disable that thing.

Hi there

Could you clarify how you are inserting Font Awesome icons into the editor, please?

I am inserting the code. For example,

<i class="fas fa-university"></i>

Wrapping it in a div makes no difference. After saving I end up with

<div> </div>

Hi there,

Would you please test if the same thing happens on a minimal installation?

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Switch to the default theme such as "TwentyTwenty" by going to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > themes".
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except Toolset and its add-ons.
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.

If the issue persists, I'd appreciate it if you could replicate it here in this clean installation so I can report the problem:

Thanks.
