[Résolu] Custom field not available for duplication

Ce fil est résolu. Voici une description du problème et la solution proposée.

Problem:
The user would like to duplicate a custom field.

Solution:
Toolset does not have a feature of copying or duplicating a field. And because the field already exists on the field group it won't be offered on the list of already created fields.

The 2nd field needs to be created manually. Or try this workaround:
1. Rename the existing field and its slug. Check this screenshot http://prntscr.com/20ly8n1
2. Save the field group. This will remove the initial field from the group.
3. Add a new field, and choose the initial field for the list of already created fields.

This support ticket is created Il y a 3 années et 8 mois. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

I have created a select custom field that captures countries. lien caché

I want to use the same custom field to create another field using the use previously created field functionality but the field is not available in the list - lien caché

I do not want to manually create another country list field. What am I missing?

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

I tried to reproduce this issue on a clean install, but it was not reproduced. I suspect, that you were trying to reuse the same field before saving it. Can you try again?

If the field still does not appear on the list, allow me temporary access to check this closely. Your next reply will be private to let you share credentials safely. ** Make a database backup before sharing credentials. **

Please let me know where the field is defined, and where do you want to reuse it.

Unfortunately that's not possible, we do not have a feature of copying or duplicating a field. And because the field already exists on the field group it won't be offered on the list of already created fields.

You will have to recreate the 2nd field manually. I tested the following workaround on a clean install and it seems to work:
1. Rename the existing field and its slug. Check this screenshot lien caché
2. Save the field group. This will remove the initial field from the group.
3. Add a new field, and choose the initial field for the list of already created fields.
Does it make sense? If it does not let me know and I'll try from my side.
