Great so you just need to create a taxonomy a separate taxonomy for each department.

Note then you will need multiple
Role: [wpv-post-taxonomy type="role" separator=", " format="link" show="name" order="asc"]

Shortcodes in order to display a roles of each employee, granted that they have multiple Roles accross multiple departments.

For Example we have Josh. Josh is apart of the IT department and Marketing department.

In IT josh is a Software Project Manager and in Marketing he is the Marketing Manager.

So we have 2 taxonomies. IT Roles and Marketing Roles.

So to display the Roles for Josh you will need to use this.

IT Roles  [wpv-post-taxonomy type="it-role" separator=", " format="link" show="name" order="asc"]
Marketing Roles  [wpv-post-taxonomy type="marketing-role" separator=", " format="link" show="name" order="asc"]

I can see this getting a bit complex given that you only want each role to display under the relevant department. So if Josh name appears under IT department you want to show his roles there and not his roles under Marketing department.

In a case like this we will need a wpv-conditional to check but I would need to think on this a bit more.
