I am trying to:
see the author's archive (worked before without any problems, before updating the Woocommerce to latest version)
Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
lien caché
I expected to see:
When I click on the nickname of the author (author link.png), I go to the author's archive
Instead, I got:
redirect to the home page.
When I disable Woocommerce, everything works as it should (no problems.png)
The Link generated in the lien caché page is correct:
See ScreenShot.
Code generated by Toolset hence is correct.
But, the URL that is generated (lien caché) initiates a redirect to the Home Page.
The response to the generated URL is a 302, which means that the page was temporarily moved:
lien caché
The requested resource resides temporarily under a different URI. Since the redirection might be altered on occasion, the client SHOULD continue to use the Request-URI for future requests. This response is only cacheable if indicated by a Cache-Control or Expires header field.
1. Does this issue persist without Toolset?
2. Does this issue persist if you purge the cache, as well plugin as server side?
Locally I cannot replicate this problem using Toolset and WooCommerce Views.
Thanks for the clarification, Beda.
You're right, it seems the problem is not in Toolset.
1. Does this issue persist without Toolset?
Yes
2. Does this issue persist if you purge the cache, as well plugin as server side?
Yes
Since this issue is not related to Toolset, I cannot help to solve it, unfortunately.
I suggest going in contact with the Server Admin to check what is redirecting the user on the Author URL's.
They should be able to access the server logs which could tell more.
I suggest to try to replicate this issue with as less plugins/theme involvement as possible, so to be sure that it is a server issue.
Eventually this happens even without WooCommerce, in other posts?
Then it is definitely a server redirect, or .htaccess modification.
After hours of research, I found a problem.
It seems that the problem concerns only Woocommerce and its role "client" ("customer").
Steps to reproduce the problem.
1. Clean WordPress install.
2. Install Woocommerce .
3. Create a user with "client" ("customer") role.
4. Go to the link "yoursite.com/author/your-client-name"
5. Redirect to homepage.
When I change the role to higher - "Shop Manager" or defaULT WordPress role "author" everything works as it should....
Ok, but this is not a Toolset problem.
Please refer to WooCommerce Support, if you found a WooCommerce Bug.
Or to WordPress, in case it's WordPress.
This issue does not happen due to Toolset.
Furthermore, I tried to replicate this issue last week during the report as outlined here:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/the-authors-archive-stopped-working-with-woocommerce-3-3-1/#post-617003
So, I believe this issue is not related to your Plugins, but your Server, or Install.
It's not related to Toolset, this is confirmed by your last tests, correct?
Then we can close this.
You can close this thread. I just share the decision with people who probably have the same problem
