is there a way of displaying the logged in status of the post author? I've tried using this shortcode but nothing is displaying:

[wpv-conditional if="( '[wpv-post-author info='logged_in']' eq 'true' )"]The author of this post is logged in[/wpv-conditional]

Thanks

Hi Julie

Do you mean you want to know if the post author is also currently using the site as well as the person who is looking at some page (not readily possible)?

Or you want to know if the current user is logged in (not a guest) and is also the author of the post being looked at (possible)?

Hiya

I was hoping to list posts (via a View) on a page viewable only by Site Admin and indicate next to each post if the author is logged in. I think this matches the 'not readily possible'??

That's right.

Each visitor to the site spins up a new instance of WordPress on the server. The only way to connect them to each other is by saving settings in the database, that each can then read.

You can do this kind of thing with a social network like BuddyPress, but you are looking at a bespoke solution, there isn't an existing WordPress function you can use that I'm aware of.

Ok thanks for clarifying!
