I have an existing Newspaper website running a very customized homegrown theme that uses CPTUI, ACF, WPML we want to transform it into a more block friendly experience using the GeneratePress Theme and a combination of GenerateBlocks, WPML and several other plugins. One other consideration is to try to transition also to Toolset so we can build out some custom interactions easier. I was wondering if you all have any instructions on how to transition to Toolset from ACF while maintaining the database? The site has roughly 13,000 items in different CPTs that we are trying to maintain for SEO and sanity purposes.
Yes, I found that already. I was hoping for some documentation on ways to keep data integrity during the transition. For example, I have an ACF field 'byline' which I recreated in Toolset using the exact same name 'byline', but the existing data is missing in Toolset.
Toolset has done a good job of taking over the CPTs, but apparently the ids are different for custom fields so all the CPTs extra data is just gone.
I have 12000 existing CPT items each of them have custom fields originally added by ACF. So I need a method of gracefully transferring the data from the ACF storage method to the Toolset storage method because they appear to be different. I had been hoping if I matched the ID exactly Toolset would be able to pick up and use the fields if the field type was the same.
You are totally right. With ACF and Toolset, with different custom field type it has different custom field storage.
If you can setup a test site and tell me what custom fields you want to transfer from ACF to Toolset and to what post type and once I will login and review your exising ACF setup then I will be able to guide you in the right direction.

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

After experimenting with Toolset Blocks again (because you all put out a big update) it has become clear to me that the loops search and filtering options availble for use by visitors on the frontend are not going to allow me to build out what I have been requested. The fact that I can't filter on the front end by author or post date is such a basic built in feature of WordPress that I was so confused when I couldn't find it when trying to build out a CPTs archive page.
I have already submitted the request to allow a search filter for Author and Post date to the frontend when building out an archive page in Toolset blocks. In my humble opinion anything you can filter by on the backend should be available when building out a filter for the front end. I know some aspects of allowing that might take some creative thinking, but you kind of need to do it if you all want to continue to be a jack of all trades kind of plugin set.
Toolset is such an amazing idea, but it repeatedly falls so short of its potential that I haven't been able to build any of my projects out of it in 4 years. When you switched to Blocks I was so excited for you because I dream about building WordPress sites without code and quickly while still being able to customize the dynamic parts.
If you keep making updates I will keep trying and maybe someday I can use your product again for a live site. Who knows maybe when/if a Toolset Blocks 2.0 arrives it will blow everyone away.
