Delete unused fields

This support ticket is created vor 4 years, 8 months. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
Delete unused fields ("nicht mehr nehmen")

The last time I deleted them inside the group, I had 502 errors.

Could you explain to me how to delete the fields without breaking the page?
- I assume, delete in "fields control" is safe and won't break the page, right?

Hi Stephanie,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Based on your screenshot this is the correct way to permanently delete the unused fields. I'm not sure why you're getting an error 502 but I can take a duplicator from your site and test on my end.

I've enabled the private fields for your next response.

you can also type "delete me" here to make it easier for you to delete them.

Hi Stephanie,

I was able to successfully delete the custom fields without triggering any errors at all.

I just went to the post field control screen and searched for Delete Me and deleted all the fields.

However can you double check on your end to indeed ensure that there are no issues remaining ?

Usually you will remove the field from the field group that it is assigned to first. Then you permanently delete it from the post control screen.

I've also removed the next field for you.
