Hi There,

I am trying to: display an archive page for my hierarchical taxonomy Locations.

I visited this URL: hidden link (behind maintenance mode plugin)

I expected to see: the list of events in Sweden.

Instead, I got: a 404 page (see screengrab 3).

Notes:
The taxonomy is accessed in the sidebar from a custom Locations menu (see screengrab)
This is displayed in the sidebar under the heading locations (see second screengrab)

I'm already using a custom Categories taxonomy (Workshops, Deepening Courses, Retreats, Private classes, Private Groups) for my custom post type and this works fine. (see 4th screengrab)

I noticed something odd...
When I go to a category custom taxonomy the url is: just the category name eg: /workshops/
But when I try and go to my locations taxonomy: the url includes the slug: so /location/sweden/

I've tried browsing to hidden link without the location but it's also coming up with a 404 page.

Any help would be much a appreciated... As I've spent several hours on this looking through the tutorials and documentation without any luck.

If you need a WP admin login please let me know.

Thanks!

Guy

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Would you mind providing me with admin access to the website so I can investigate this further?

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the credentials.

Since your site has gone live I don't want to do much testing. An alternative is that you can provide me with a duplicator package of the website so that I can test it out and let you know exactly what I've found.

To provide the duplicator please have a look at the link below.

Hi Shane,

I've now done this. Can you provide me with an email address so I can share the Google Drive folder with you?

Thanks,

Guy

Hi Guy,

So I have some progress report on this.

It seems that your url's need to be refreshed, could you go to Settings -> Permalinks and change it to then check on the frontend to see if the Archive works.

If it does then just head back to your permalinks settings and change it back to postname.
Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Shane

Thanks Shane,

This kind of works... The content appears for a second and then disappears.
At least we're not getting the 404 error so this is progress.

Why do you think the content appears and then vanishes?

Thanks for your support

Hi Guy,

So the issue seems to be rooted in the child theme itself.

Were there any customizations done to the child theme?

Swapping to the main theme and the and the archive shows up normally.

Thanks,
Shane

Looks like a CSS issue... I'll dig into it.
Thanks very much for your help!

Have a great day/evening wherever you are.
