I am trying to: customize a custom post type in the designer after clicking the "Customize" link in the top admin bar

I expected to see: the post type show up but it's not there
Instead, I got: see image
I understand that this is partly the theme but wondering if there is a setting I am missing. I have taken a custom post and checked its settings and replicated it on the Custom Post Type that is missing.
